These multi-purpose instruments measure wood within the given moisture range in percent. 

The reference scale is used for non-wood building materials such as drywall, gypsum, concrete, roofing materials, etc. Relative moisture levels can be determined by obtaining comparative readings. 

Establish a base value by taking measurements in dry material, then compare readings in test material to base value.

For hard building materials such as concrete we  recommend adding the Electrode E16 to the mini-Ligno S/DC or mini-Ligno DX/C.
